Good begets good, let us reciprocate his numerous gestures by voting for him during the election, we shouldn’t betray his continuous effort, he was the only one we got to meet during our hunger days, anyone that comes to us now is just for benefits of election please let us remember that
The above expression is one of the numerous remarks by some of the major stakeholders when they played host to Gbenga Oyekunle-Power.
Without being immodest, if we are to go by mentioning the achievements of this great man, we will end up looking like someone trying to blow the trumpet of charity carried out to impact positively on the masses.
However, what I have come to realize about the political terrain in this part of the world is that if you refuse to make yourself relevant, some noise makers who are desperate for power don’t mind claiming your glory.
It is not a common practice for an individual to devout his or her resources in putting smiles on the faces of people who have no direct or blood link with them.
In Kwara State for example just as it is in many parts of the country, there are often harvests of philanthropists, analysts,s and aspirants on the eve of general elections.
This practice has been the way of life of most politicians in Nigeria since 2003 till date. Permit me to say that this trend cuts across the national and sub-national levels.
What makes Gbenga-Power a special species in our political landscape is that he has been consistent with the people of his immediate community and environs, with all sense of responsibility, the impact of this revered man is being felt outside Kwara State!
For an individual who has never occupied any political office to have embarked on numerous people-oriented projects like Gbenga Power is unprecedented in our history as a people.
It is strange but true that this great son of Igbaja has succeeded in registering himself on the minds of those residing in the hinterland as if he also resides with them.
There is no gain in saying that water remains and will remain one of the essential needs of living things ( man, animals, and plants). Gbenga Power has been drilling boreholes for the people of Ifelodun, Offa, and Oyun Local Government Areas for many years.
As a patriotic son of Kwara South, with a strong passion for education and skill acquisition, this great man has continued to award scholarships and empowerment to his people come rain come shine.
The last time I checked, no fewer than 18 communities in Ifelodun, Offa, and Oyun have benefited from the drilling of boreholes by this great man.
In the area of empowerment, the number is surging daily because this benefactor of his people said he would not leave any stone unturned until a sizeable among the youth and women have been becoself-employed yet.
