Super Eagles head coach Augustine Eguavoen has said that he will return to his position as the technical director of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
Eguavoen stated this following the Super Eagles exit at 2021 Africa Cup of Nation in Cameroon.
The former Super Eagles captain was appointed as the interim coach few weeks to the AFCON tournament following the exit of the former handler Gernot Rohr who was relieved of his services by the NFF.
Tunisia captain Youssef Msakni second half strike helped Tunisia to advance to the quarter final stage
Msakni beat Super Eagles keeper Maduka Okoye with a long-range effort two minutes into the second half and the goal was to prove decisive.
Eguavoen, who won bronze medal as Eagles coach in 2006 in Tunisia, said he will allow the federation to make final decision on the way forward after AFCON exit.
“What happens next is that; I’m the interim coach and Technical Director of the NFF, I will go back to my position and allow the Federation make a decision on the way forward,” Eguavoen said.
