The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has handed over N104,091,162.46 to the Niger State Government following the successful recovery of the sum from Kiara Rice Mills Limited.
The EFCC said the recovered amount represents the company’s unremitted tax liabilities accrued between 2021 and 2024.
The commission, in a statement by the EFCC’s spokesman, Dele Oyewale, on Thursday, said intelligence received in February 2025 indicated that the multi-billion-naira firm, located in Kpatsuwa Village, Mokwa Local Government Area of Niger State, had failed to remit its full tax obligations despite operating profitably, a violation of both federal tax laws and state revenue regulations.
He said following an investigation by the Foreign Exchange Malpractice Section of the EFCC, the commission confirmed the infractions and recovered the full amount owed to the Niger State government
