Prince Abiodun Otepola, a renowned philanthropist, has launched ABYEM Academy, a primary and secondary school dedicated to providing quality education to the residents of Ilorin, the Kwara state capital.
The launching of the school was commissioned on Saturday by National Population Commission Commissioner, Alhaji AbdulRazaq Gidado and attended by numerous educationists, stakeholders, religious leaders, and members of the Budo-Eso community.
In his address, Prince Abiodun Otepola, the founder of ABYEM Academy, highlighted the pivotal role of education in shaping the future of children.
He emphasized the academy’s commitment to collaborating with parents, guardians, and stakeholders to ensure a brighter future for the next generation of leaders.
“Education is crucial for our future. ABYEM Academy is a platform to collaborate with parents to foster a good future for our children. At ABYEM Academy, we bridge the gap and foster future leaders to help them become successful members of society,” Otepola stated.
Prince Otepola elaborated on the importance of education in creating a successful environment for the younger generation, noting that education helps steer children away from social vices.
He reiterated the academy’s slogan, “Every Child Counts,” and emphasized the need to educate every child from an early age.
“Education is the key to keeping children away from social vices. To raise good children who will contribute positively to the community, every single child must be educated. Taking children from childhood and giving them education is essential,” he explained.
Otepola also called on other prominent individuals and investors to invest in education, asserting that such investments can significantly reduce crime rates in society.
The guest speaker at the event, Mr. Bamikole, underscored the transformative power of education.
“Education is the most powerful weapon to change the world. It is important and cannot be taken lightly. Without quality education, some of us would not be able to address certain occasions,” he remarked.
He also rallied for community support to ensure the growth and development of ABYEM Academy.
