Dr. Lawal Olohungbebe Unveils 24-Point Action Plan for Grassroots Development in Kwara State

 

The Senior Special Assistant to Kwara State Governor on Community Development, Dr Lawal Olohungbebe has unveiled his 24 Action Plan for grassroots development in the state.

Dr Olohungbebe who is also the Coordinator Community Engagement in Office of Kwara State Governor, disclosed this on Tuesday while featuring on Association of Kwara Online Media Practitioners (ASKOMP) Media Parley in Ilorin.

The Community Development Expert said the action plan is tailored towards bringing dividends of democracy to rural areas across the 16 local government areas in Kwara State.

He revealed that Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq led administration has distributed solar powered streetlights in some communities to address insecurity issue and energize businesses at night.

According to him, community engagement has gone beyond distribution of items and handouts in this era. We are focusing on human capital development to propel sustainable development inline with global goals-SDG.

On Community Engagement, Olohungbebe said his office has trained community development officers in the three Senatorial districts on vision of Governor Abdulrazaq, latest trends and strategic partnership for rural development.

The SSA noted that participants were issued certificate by Department of Community Development, Kwara State University Malete.

Speaking on Food Palliative distribution, Olohungbebe said the Committee received 20,000 bags of 10kg rice from the state government with mandate to reach out to vulnerable and poorest of the people.

His words: “His Excellency, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq specifically gave us instructions on target beneficiaries for the food palliative. It’s meant for vulnerable persons to cushion effect of economic hardship. We therefore worked with Community based organizations, CSOs and other stakeholders in the community to identify people in the category and distribute accordingly.”
