The Kwara Central Senatorial Aspirant under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prof. Fatai Aremu (Dadin Kowa), has felicitated with the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Zulu Gambari, CFR, Maimartaba, Sheriki Ilory, on the occasion of his 30th anniversary on the throne of his forebears. In a goodwill message released through his media team on Today, Prof. Aremu described the three decades reign of the 11th Emir as a golden era characterized by unprecedented peace, progressive development, and the preservation of the rich cultural heritage of Ilorin Emirate. The university don acknowledged the royal father’s sterling qualities of wisdom, humility, and fatherly disposition which have continued to unite the diverse peoples of the emirate and foster harmonious coexistence among all ethnic and religious groups within the domain.
Prof. Aremu noted that since ascending the throne on November 11, 1995, His Royal Highness has distinguished himself as a bridge-builder and stabilizing force, not only within the emirate but across Kwara State and Nigeria at large. “The Emir’s commitment to education, youth empowerment, and community development resonates deeply with our shared vision for a prosperous Kwara Central Senatorial District,” Aremu stated. He particularly commended the traditional ruler’s consistent advocacy for good governance, his counsel to political leaders across party lines, and his unwavering support for initiatives that advance the welfare of his subjects, noting that these virtues represent the kind of servant-leadership that Nigeria desperately needs at all levels.
The PDP chieftain further described Alhaji Gambari as an embodiment of the finest traditions of the Ilorin Emirate, whose reign has reinforced the relevance of traditional institutions in modern governance. According to Prof. Aremu, the Emir’s ability to balance tradition with contemporary realities, while maintaining the dignity and sanctity of the throne, offers valuable lessons for both traditional and political leaders. He emphasized that the royal father’s three decades of service have been marked by consultative leadership, respect for democratic values, and genuine concern for the marginalized and vulnerable in society—qualities that have earned him reverence far beyond the boundaries of Ilorin Emirate.
While praying for continued good health, wisdom, and many more years of peaceful reign for the royal father, Prof. Aremu assured that as he seeks to represent Kwara Central at the Senate, he would continue to uphold the values of integrity, service, and community development that the Emir exemplifies. He called on the people of Ilorin Emirate and Kwara Central at large to join him in celebrating this historic milestone, expressing confidence that under the Emir’s continued blessing and guidance, the Senatorial would witness greater political consciousness and socio-economic transformation in the years ahead.
