The Kwara State Technical Committee of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), has refuted the news making round the social media, titled ”Kwara on Fire, Commissioner for Works denies COREN entry to Tanke Flyover Site”.
The State Chairman of the Council, Engr Bashir Atunde Lawal, FNSE, who stated this on Friday while speaking with Newsmen in Ilorin, shortly after the meeting with members of the Technical Committee in the State, described the news as Fake, Untrue and nothing but mere propaganda.
According to him, the Council is to Regulate the Practice and Training of Engineering in Nigeria.
He added that at no time was the Council denied access to the Flyover Site or any other Site in the State.
Engr Lawal however advised the general public to disregard the false news, and reject any informations that did not come from the media handles of COREN.
He noted that the Council has its ways of communicating its activities to the Public.
“It is misinformation that Kwara State Commissioner for Works and Transport, Engr. Suleiman Rotimi Iliasu denied COREN entrance to the site of the ongoing Construction of Babatunde Idiagbon Flyover at Tanke, Ilorin, people should please ignore such misconception.”
