Rangers and Scotland legend, Ally McCoist, has warned Napoli against signing forward Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United.

McCoist believes Ronaldo would not improve Napoli if he joined the Serie A side.

Ronaldo’s future at Manchester United is currently uncertain.

The Portugal captain returned to the club’s training ground at Carrington ahead of their Europa League tie with Sheriff on Thursday

The former Real Madrid star was banished from the matchday squad by Man United manager Erik ten Hag for their Premier League 1-1 draw against Chelsea last Sunday.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner had expressed a desire to leave Man United during the summer, but he was eventually forced to stay put, with Napoli named among the potential suitors for the 37-year-old in the upcoming transfer window in 2023.
