CAF Champions League: Owolabi, Nwosu rue Nigerian teams’ elimination

 

Former internationals, Felix Owolabi and Felix Nwosu on Tuesday rued the elimination of Nigerian football clubs from the preliminary stage of this season’s CAF Champions League

Recall that Nigerian football clubs, Enyimba International FC of Aba and Remo Stars FC of Ikenne were eliminated in the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League over the weekend.

Enyimba were eliminated after losing 4-3 on aggregate against Al-Ahly Benghazi of Libya, while Remo Stars FC lost against Medeama FC of Ghana via penalty

Speaking with NAN, Owolabi, who was not pleased with the result of the matches, urged stakeholders to look inwards for solutions to the problem.

Owolabi said, “The present day football has gone from where we think it is in Nigeria. It’s now so bad that our club sides are eliminated from continental football within a twinkle of an eye
