BREAKING : President Tinubu Redeploys Youth Minister – Designate Following BBYDI Letter

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced the redeployment of Engr. Abubakar Momoh from the Federal Ministry of Youth to the Federal Ministry of Niger Delta Development.

This decision comes in response to a letter written by the Brain Builders Youth Development Initiative (BBYDI), urging the President to reconsider the appointment

The Brain Builders Youth Development Initiative (BBYDI) is a prominent youth-led organization that advocates for good governance, youth empowerment, and inclusive policies in Nigeria. Through various initiatives and programmes, BBYDI strives to create a conducive environment for the growth and development of young Nigerians.

19 August 2023, the group penned a letter expressing concerns over Engr. Abubakar Momoh ‘s suitability for the role of Youth Development Minister. Said it is crucial to have representatives who can relate to and understand the unique challenges faced by the nation’s youth. They also requested that Youths should be considered for ministerial positions, especially for portfolios that directly concerns them

In a press release on Sunday signed by special adviser to the president on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, announced the cabinet reshuffle by President Tinubu President Bola Tinubu has approved the redeployment of Engr. Abubakar Momoh from the Federal Ministry of Youth to the Federal Ministry of Niger Delta Development.

The Federal Ministry of Youth is to be re-assigned to a Minister-Designate soon.

Reacting to the new development Mrs Nurah Jimoh-Sanni BBYDI Executive Director, said We extend our utmost appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his responsive leadership and keen attention to the concerns raised by the Brain Builders Youth Development Initiative (BBYDI). The decision to redeploy Engr. Abubakar Momoh from the Federal Ministry of Youth to the Federal Ministry of Niger Delta Development underscores the President’s commitment to addressing the youth-related matters and ensuring that the right individuals are entrusted with pivotal roles.

We are heartened by the President’s recognition of the need for representatives who can truly comprehend and empathize with the unique challenges that our youth face today. This redeployment aligns with BBYDI’s unwavering advocacy for inclusive governance, youth empowerment, and the active participation of young Nigerians in shaping the nation’s trajectory.
