Beware of fake employment letters, NSCDC warns

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps on Friday drew the attention of Nigerians to fake and invalid employment letters in circulation. It also warned desperate job seekers to exercise caution so as not to fall victim to the fraudsters.

In a statement by the Public Relations Officer, Babawale Afolabi, the NSCDC stated that the “Corps has been inundated with complaints from victims who had parted with their hard earned money ranging from N250,000 to N500,000 for letters which are fake at best.

“The Commandant General of the NSCDC, Ahmed Audi, will like to alert the public to the fake and malicious employment letters currently circulating in the country and to state categorically and unequivocally that the misleading and criminal employment letters did not emanate from the NSCDC nor from the Fire, Immigration and Correctional Service Board but the handiwork of yet to be identified and faceless criminally-minded individuals who are taking undue advantage of desperate job seekers in the country.”

He stated further that the CG had ordered for the nationwide manhunt for members of the syndicate behind the viral NSCDC employment letters, adding that efforts are already yielding positive results.
