The Association of Telephones, Cable TV and Internet Subscribers of Nigeria (ATCIS) has rejected the proposed tariff hike by telecom operators, citing its potential to further impoverish subscribers amidst economic hardship.
ATCIS National President, Hon. Sina Bilesanmi, in a media roundtable in Lagos, emphasized the need for transparency, consumer protection, and a balanced approach, considering both the industry needs and consumer affordability.
ATCIS remains dedicated to protecting the rights of telephone, cable Tv, and internet subscribers across Nigeria.
Bilesanmi called for improved service quality, fair billing, and expansion of services, while emphasizing the need for transparency, regulatory compliance, and customer education
He urged the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) to ensure transparency, protect consumer interests, and consider alternative solutions
This meeting was summoned to address emerging issues in the telecom industry, especially the relentless clamour by telecom operators to hike tariff of services across board, including call and data tariffs. ATCIS-Nigeria the only leading Telecom Subscriber advocacy body are not part of the so called Stakeholders meeting on Tuesday for Telcos Operators and other threatening FG,NCC according to the News.
This reaction aims to express concern, call for transparency and consumer protection, and advocate for a balanced approach that considers both industry needs and consumer affordability.
