APC Igbaja Controversial Party Secretariat: Group applauds family for recovering property from Gbenga Oyekunle Power

Ifelodun AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq Peoples Trust (AA-APT) on Wednesday has commended the owners of the property purportedly donated to the All Progressives Congress (APC) Igbaja ward 1 as secretariat for recovering their family house from Mr Gbenga Oyekunle Power, ADC House of Representatives candidate in the 2023 elections.

In a statement released on Wednesday in Share by its coordinator, Wasiu Adelodun and made available to Just Event Online TV, said the move by the noble Ile Alaga family will save the family from public disrepute the overzealous politician seeks to plunge them.

The late patriarch of the noble family was a rallying point for political and socio-economic development in both Igbaja and Igbomina lands while he sojourned here. Baba Joseph Ogundele (Alaga) who happened to be the chairman of nearly all development pursuits in Igbaja during his lifetime wouldn’t have allowed the family house turned to a battleground.

We are aware that family members have issued an eviction notice to Mr Gbenga Power with September as the deadline. Mr Oyekunle sometime ago pretentiously sought the approval of the family to have a flat of 3-bedroom to accommodate his ‘NGO’. How it turned into secretariats to two political parties within a space of six months rattled family members.

According to the statement, The family expressed shock when it saw it converted to a party secretariat and worst still painting the whole sprawling edifice and family heritage into ADC, and later APC colours. The family equally removed all party flags decorating their heritage as a party house of commotion.

We are equally pleased that the police acted civil when Mr Oyekunle attempted to use force against the family. He invited the police to arrest the family painter while at work to repaint the edifice back to its original colour. We hope the traditional institution will steer clear of the opprobrium the overzealous politician is trying to attract to the ever-progressive people of Igbaja.

More so, the Deputy Governor, Mr. Kayode Alabi will do well by focusing on the job at hand and leaving 2027 in the hands of God. He should know that the God who gave him No 2 position in 2015 when he was in the house sleeping can give Senate in 2027 if He so pleases.

We appeal to all lovers of development and progressive elements in the largest local council in Nigeria to rally support for the performing Governor of Kwara State and the Chairman of the Nigerian Governors Forum, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON as he carries more tasks on his shoulders now. Distraction by any self-serving politician is a No, No for us.
