Professional Islamic Musicians Association of Nigeria (PISMAN) has elected an Ilorin born Islamic music act, El-Hajj Amir Hassan Cisse Olorire as the President to pilot the affairs of the association for the next four years.
Olorire emerged winner with a vote than his main opponent and outgoing president of the association, Alhaji Abdullahi Tidibodo who sought for reemergence in the keenly contested election held yesterday at the National Secretariat of the association in Lagos.
In his victory speech, Olorire expressed gratitude for the confidence reposed in him and pledges commitment to the upliftment of the association by carrying every member along in the decision making process.
Several prominent members of the association have however taken turns to congratulate the new president, describing his victory as well deserved while also imploring him to sustain the attributes that earn him the confidence of the Pisman’s members.
In reacting to the outcome of the election, the outgoing president, Alhaji Abdullah Tidibodo said he accepted the result in good faith, praying that God guides the new executives aright in the discharge of their duties.
Some of the members that emerged victorious in the election were; Alhaji Abdullah Lekeleke, Missioner from Oyo State
Alhaja Fatimoh was elected as Financial Secretary while Alhaja Marufat was elected as treasurer amongst others.
