The Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate for Ajikobi/Alanamu State Constituency at the Kwara state House of Assembly, Mall. Sulyman Olayiwola Karatu has withdrawn from the Saturday March 18th election.
In a statement made available to Just Event Online TV by Mustapha Onide, Director, Media and Communications, Layi Karatu Campaign Organization, the decisions to bow out of the political ring was borne out of the reality of political schemings, which is not favorable to his community, Alanamu, which forms the primary basis of his aspiration in the first instance.
“We wish to announce the withdrawal of our candidate, Hon. Sulyman Olayiwola Karatu from the contest for Ajikobi/Alanamu state constituency seat at the Kwara state House of Assembly.
“The primary driving force for our candidate is his passion for the development of his immediate community, Alanamu and Ilorin North West as a whole.
“Consequently, in the spirit of brotherhood and in alignment with the progressive ideology of our candidate, Hon. Karatu, we are throwing our weight behind our dear big sister, Hajia Tundun Babatunde Alanamu of the APC.
“We urge our supporters to go out en masse to vote the APC candidate and assure them that we shall not relent in ensuring this great sacrifice we are making translates to the development and prosperity of our dear community, Alanamu, Ilorin west and Kwara state at large.
