The Kwara State Police Command has announced the assumption of duty by CP Adekimi Ojo as the 44th Commissioner of Police for the state.
In a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, the Command described CP Ojo as a seasoned law enforcement officer with over three decades of experience in crime prevention, intelligence-led policing, and strategic security management.
CP Ojo has previously served in various operational, investigative, and administrative roles across different states in Nigeria.
Until his appointment, he was the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of operations at the Kwara State Command, where he played a key role in strengthening crime-fighting strategies and coordinating security efforts.
The new Commissioner assured the people of Kwara State of his commitment to maintaining law and order, enhancing public safety, and improving community relations.
He urged residents to cooperate with the police by providing credible information to support crime prevention and security operations.
Meanwhile, CP Ojo has extended his felicitations to Muslim faithful in Kwara State and across Nigeria on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr.
He called for peace, unity, and mutual understanding during the celebrations and assured the public of adequate security measures before, during, and after the festivities.
