During the meeting, ACOMIN Coordinator Mr. Femi Olatunbosun stressed the need for a stronger partnership with vocal representatives from the three diseases they focus on—malaria, tuberculosis, and HIV/AIDS.
He emphasized that engaging these individuals in discussions and decision-making processes would help drive awareness, improve service delivery, and ensure better health outcomes.
The meeting also showcased significant progress achieved within local healthcare facilities:
The Kwara State Primary Health Care Development Agency (KWSPHCDA) officially opened the Tanke-Ile PHC in January. The facility is now operational and improving healthcare accessibility for residents.
In an effort to promote hygiene, the community at Ojomu Central A Ward donated a waste bin to Ojomu Central A PHC, ensuring the proper disposal of medical and general waste.
Alanamu community took the initiative to put up an awareness banner at their healthcare facility, discouraging indiscriminate waste disposal and promoting a cleaner environment.
These achievements reflect ACOMIN’s dedication to strengthening community health systems and fostering collaborations that drive sustainable impact.
The organization remains committed to advancing public health interventions and working with stakeholders to address key challenges in the state.
