The Civil Society for Malaria Control, Immunization and Nutrition (ACOMIN) Kwara state chapter has paid an advocacy visit to the Director, Planning, Research and statistics, Kwara State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Mr. Aliu Abdulazeez Ayo.
The state chairman for ACOMIN, Mr. Femi Olatunbosun during the visit highlighted some challenges identified at some Primary Health Centres PHCs visited by ACOMIN CBOs in the month.
He identified some of the challenges to include shortage of staff, attitude of health workers and some dilapidated health facilities.
While responding, Mr. Aliu appreciated ACOMIN for their giant strides towards ensuring quality health delivery in the state. He promised that all the issues stated by the team will be looked into added that necessary steps will be taken to address them.
He also said untill primary health care is under one roof, some issues facing PHCs in the state may not be addressed as fast as possible, calling for unity among the health agencies.
ACOMIN state coordinator and other team members however promised to join their voices on “Primary Health Care under one roof ” for all necessary issues to be resolved as at when due and for quality service delivery to be achieved.
In the same vein, the team also visited the Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Planning, Alhaji Yaqub U. Jaya in his office on how to collaborate with the Ministry on further engagement and sustainability of Global Fund project on Community Led Monitoring in the state.
