As a measure to neutralize the effect of lingering economic hardship, the Senator representing Kwara Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Mallam Saliu Mustapha, has commenced the distribution of bags of rice to over ,10,000 households in the 52 wards of the senatorial district.

Giving the breakdown of the food palliative, Legislative Assistant to the Legislator, Alhaji Abdulrahman Abdulkadir Tunde, said the relief items include 20,000 bags of 10kg, 6,000 bags of 25kg and 4,000 bags of 50kg rice.

AbdulRahman said the bags of rice were distributed to religious leaders, traditional rulers in Kwara Central, Islamic clerics, political leaders, members of Kwara Central APC, people in communities and wards of the senatorial district.

He said the food relief was part of the senator efforts to assist the people in the sacred month and elevate the conditions of the less privileged.

According to him, the senator had given a directive to the constituency office to ensure that the food palliative reaches the most vulnerable segment of the community to ameliorate their suffering, especially in this sacred month.

The legislative Assistant expressed the Senator’s felicitations to President Bola Tinubu, Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq; the Emir of Ilorin, Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, and all political, community and religious stakeholders across Kwara State, saying that the gesture was aimed to complement the efforts of the President and Governor AbdulRazaq to reduce the hardship in the country.

AbdulRahman reiterated the commitment of Senator Mustapha to uplifting the living conditions of his constituents through facilitation of projects and programmes.

The senator’s aide also urged Muslims to use the Ramadan to move closer to the Almighty Allah and conduct themselves properly so as to maximize the spiritual and physical benefits inherent in the month.
