His Royal Highness, the Emir of Ilorin, Alh. (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, CFR, has given a Royal Approval to the Ilorin Emirate Youth Development Association (IEYDA) 2023 Youth Summit and Food Bank Initiative, as part of the activities lined up to commemorate the 28th Coronation Anniversary of His Royal Highness.
The Emir who expressed his enthusiasm for the Youth-driven initiative and the noble cause it represents, gave the approval on Tuesday during an homage visit by IEYDA Members to his Palace in Ilorin.
His Royal Highness lauded the IEYDA’s commitment to the Welfarism of the people of Ilorin and fostering unity among the youths across the five (5) local government areas of Ilorin Emirate.
According to the *National President* of the association, *Alh. Abdullahi Babatunde Salau,* the IEYDA Youth Summit scheduled to take place on November 11th, 2023, will bring together young leaders, scholars, and community activists to discuss pertinent issues affecting the Ilorin Emirate Community and chart a course for its sustainable development.
On his part, the *National Publicity Secretary, Alh. Mohammed Uthman Jagunma* disclosed that the Food Bank program in conjunction with Arewa Pot, is another key element of the Anniversary celebrations, aimed at providing essential sustenance to vulnerable members of the community.
Jagunma added that the initiative resonates deeply the Emir’s vision of ensuring the well-being of all his subjects.
Meanwhile, On Friday IEYDA joins Emir of Ilorin for Jumat Prayer
The association glittered as they observed the Jummat Prayer in the same attire with HRH, MaiMartaba, Emir of Ilorin, Alh (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR.
The Jummat Prayer which was led by the Chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh (Dr) Muhammadu Bashir Soliu OON, was performed at Ilorin Central Jummat Mosque in Emir’s Palace.
Shortly after the prayer, the association marched in a colored retinue with the Emir while returning to the Palace.
Emphasizing the importance of community involvement and youth empowerment, the Emir urged the people of Ilorin to actively participate in the upcoming events and support the IEYDA’s laudable endeavors.
The IEYDA leadership expressed their gratitude to the Emir for his unwavering support and pledged to make the 28th Coronation Anniversary a memorable occasion that reflects the unity, progress, and compassion that define the Ilorin Emirate.
