256 Students Bag First-Class Honours as UNILORIN Prepares for 39th Convocation

 

A total of 256 students from the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) have graduated with First-Class honours, out of 12,042 students set to receive their degrees during the 39th Convocation Ceremonies of the institution.

This was revealed by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Wahab Egbewole (SAN), during a media briefing earlier today.

Prof. Egbewole provided a breakdown of the graduating students from the 2022/2023 academic session.

He noted that among the 12,042 graduates, 256 earned First-Class honours, 3,842 achieved Second Class (Upper Division), 6,178 earned Second Class (Lower Division), 1,299 received Third Class, and 62 graduated with a Pass.

Additionally, 124 MB;BS graduates, 64 Nursing graduates, 35 Optometry graduates, 30 Veterinary Medicine graduates, 18 Pharmacy graduates with Distinction, 85 Pharmacy graduates with Pass, 1 Distinction, and 32 Pass in Physiotherapy were among those to be honored. There are also 16 Diploma holders.

In the Higher Degrees category, the university will award 1,875 degrees, including 92 Postgraduate Diplomas, 1,280 Master’s degrees across various faculties, 179 Professional Master’s degrees, 1 MPhil, and 323 PhDs.

Prof. Egbewole also reaffirmed his commitment to prioritizing staff welfare, emphasizing that the well-being of the university’s staff remains a top priority for management.
