20th Anniversary: Rotary Club of Ilorin holds Novelty Match, award notable individuals

 

In celebration of it’s 20th anniversary, Rotary Club of Ilorin hasborganised a novelty match, cultural event, dinner and award night, to appreciate members for their immense commitment to serving humanity.

The club also donated a motorized borehole to Sentu community in Ilorin East LG, in collaboration with the Threshold of Hope Foundation.

Its president, Rotarian Hassan Shuaib Olayinka Okoh, highlighted the organization’s contributions to the community to include, education, healthcare, and peacebuilding. He commended the members for their dedication and commitment to making a positive impact.

The anniversary celebration also acknowledged the founding members of the original Rotary Club of Ilorin, established 23 years ago, and their role in laying the foundation for the club’s current success.

The Rotary Club of Ilorin is part of Rotary International, a global service organization with over 1.2 million members, which is celebrating its 119th anniversary this year. Okoh said.

He commended the members for their dedication and commitment in making a positive impact.

During the Commissioning of the motorized borehole in the sentu community, the Magaji of the community, Alhaji Alao Musa, appreciated the club for their support and promised good maintenance of the borehole.

While giving remarks, different Rotarians across Nigerian who present at the dinner and award night, commended the effort of the Rotary Club of Ilorin and its 20th president, Okoh, for their services to humanity.

The event also witnessed presentation of awards to Onimoji of Imoji Land, HRM. Oba Engr. . D.O Olugbenga Kolawole, Magaji Aare of Ilorin Emirate council, Dr. Soliu Mohammed, Rtn. Alao Azeez, among others for their remarkable services to humanity.
