205 stranded Nigerians arrive from Sudan

A total of 205 evacuees from Sudan on Friday arrived in the country.

They arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Pilgrims terminal, Abuja.

Following the crisis which broke out in the country in April, a total of 2,518 stranded Nigerians were evacuated from the country in May.

The National Emergency Management Agency commenced a mop-up operation to bring those still stranded back to the country.

The first mop-up evacuation took place on June 24, 2023, when 125 stranded Nigerians arrived in the country.

However, the spokesperson, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, stated that the 205 evacuees comprised 45 children and 160 adults.

Balogun, however, said a total of 2,865 evacuees have arrived in the country.
