2024 NIPOGA will make a difference — FEDPOFFA Mgt. Says During Awareness Campaign

 

The Department of Mass Communication of the Federal Polytechnic Offa has staged awareness campaign on the 22nd edition of Nigeria Polytechnic Games (NIPOGA ) which will be hosted by the Federal Polytechnic Offa.

The campaign was held on Wednesday 24 July 2024 at the Polytechnic Permanent Site.

Addressing the press, the Deputy Rector Administration, who doubles as the Chairman Local Organising Committee, Dr. Salimonu Ishaq Rasheed commended the Mass Communication Department for the awareness campaign. He noted that the campaign happened at the right time to tell Nigerians that the institution is ready for the event.

According to him, “The management commends the Dean, School of Communication, the Head of the Department of Mass Communication and campaign supervisors for making a NIPOGA awareness as a theme for this year’s campaign. We are very delighted, and we want to promise the world that the forthcoming NIPOGA would be something that would last for a longer period. We want to make a difference, and we are assiduously working on it in all ramifications.

Speaking on the economic and social impacts of NIPOGA on the Polytechnic, the Deputy Registrar academic matters and Secretary to the Local Organising Committee, Mr Oladimeji Aliu stated that the event will attract visitors to the community which will boost the economic activities of the host community.

Also speaking, the Dean, School of Communication and Information Technology and Chairman, NIPOGA Media and Publicity Committee, Dr. Mrs. Oluwakemi Ogungbamigbe reiterated the institution’s commitment to hosting the event. While commending the Rector, his management team and the Polytechnic community, she reemphasized the purpose of the campaign by Mass Communication Department.

Similarly, the Head of Department, Dr. Bankole T.O. congratulated the Management led by Engr. Dr. Kadiri Kamoru Oluwatoyin for securing the hosting right for the first time in the history of the Polytechnic and wished the institution a successful event. He noted that all hands are on deck to achieve a successful program.

One of the campaign supervisors, Dr. Chucks Okoji said the department embarked on the campaign to let the world know the importance of the event to the Polytechnic community through an awareness campaign.

“ The campaign is to let the world know that the Federal Polytechnic Offa is the next host of NIPOGA which will serve as a platform to promote the spirit of sportsmanship and a forum to bring students from different Polytechnics together for peace and unity, which is the most important thing as one Nigeria.”

While the Students’ Union Public Relations Officer, Comrade Ogunrobi commended the management for securing the hosting right for the first time in the history of the Polytechnic.

“On behalf of the Students’ Union President and the entire students of the Federal Polytechnic Offa, I commend and congratulate the management for securing the hosting right. We are delighted as students that it is happening during our time,” he stated.
