•Applaud PDP for its zoning
The Kwara North Stakeholders Consultative Forum on Friday said that it would be the turn of the zone to produce the next governor of the state in the coming election as the senatorial districts had produced a Governor in the last 30 years.
This was disclosed during a press briefing in Ilorin on Friday
Alhaji Muhammed Ishak speaking on behalf of the forum chairman, Comrade Abdullahi Lade, said “Unfortunately, even the only son of Kwara North who became a Kwara State Governor then, spent only one and half years before the truncation of his administration by the military junta.”
Recall that the Kwara North Stakeholders Consultative Forum (KNSCF) has led agitation that the governorship slot is a zone to Kwara North in 2023 after which the major opposition party in the state, Peoples Democratic Party agreed to its candidate to the senatorial district with the endorsement of the party leaders, stakeholders from the two other senatorial districts.
He described that their yearning was greatly embraced and it’s a strengthening of hopes of Kwara residents, adding that Kwara state people are one big family.
The statement read in part “As I have always said; “In Kwara State, we are one family”. If we take time to go back through history, we will discover that the people of Baaboko in Ilorin are from bokobaru people of Kaiama, the People of Isale Baruba in Ilorin, also hail’s from the Baruten Nation just as the People of Alfa Nda, kutujifu and Lubasafu of Ilorin are Nupes.
“Our People from Moro Local Government are related to Ilorin and Kwara South. There are also and always intermarriages between the great people of Kwara North, South & Central. These we say, that Kwara North will be fully supported by our brothers and sisters from Kwara Central and Kwara South come 2023.”
Also, he charged Kwara Northerners who are presently holding appointed or elective positions in the state on the urge to remain in office, which mustn’t be done at the expense of one’s fatherland. While Fairness and Equity should rather be the watchwords.
Furthermore, the forum appreciated the Kwara State Peoples Democratic Party and its leadership for listening to their concerns, describing it as an unprecedented opportunity
Alhaji Muhammed however assured Kwara citizens that the eventual candidate of the party from Kwara North will be a competent Governor, while he seeks to support the project to make successive
