The Peoples Democratic Party PDP Association of Local Government Chairmen Kwara State, under the leadership of Ilorin West PDP Chairman, Mr. AbdulKadir Issa, has pledged support for the National Leader of PDP, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki on his presidential ambition come 2023
AbdulKadir made the declaration during a press briefing with journalists at Ilorin West PDP secretariat, Agbooba Ilorin, he said as the nation is going through a tough time in every sector, people cannot sleep with both eyes closed following the high spate of insecurity.
He said the economy is in shambles as the daily meal continues to go beyond the reach of the common man. Added that investors are not willing to come forth while corruption continues to eat deep into the fabric of the nation.
He maintained that if proper care is not taken, the present administration may plunge the nation into further disintegration.
He reiterated that the PDP Local Government Chairmen in Kwara State which comprises 16 local government chairmen of the major opposition party in the state declare unflinching support for His Excellency, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki’s 2023 Presidential bid.
AbdulKadir maintained that without mincing words, the former Senate President remains the most qualified, competent, and credible choice for the party and Nigeria as a whole, considering his excellent performance as President of the Senate, Chairman 8th National Assembly, unprecedented achievements as two-term Governor of Kwara State and Chairman of the most impactful Governors Forum
He said Dr. Bukola is the only aspirant who possesses all rudimentary knowledge and understanding to fix Nigeria. Therefore urging Kwarans to support his ambition to become the number one citizen of the country
“Let me state at this juncture that our declaration in support of Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki’s presidential aspiration in 2023 should not be viewed as no more than this micro-community.
This declaration will be backed by spirited and vigorous canvassing. We are extending our political advocacy to all local government chairmen of the PDP across the 36 states and 774 local government areas in Nigeria.
It is indisputable that our nation deserves the best hand to come to our rescue in 2023. Nigeria is in dire need of a relatively young, exposed, and intelligent leader with a wealth of experience in governance and public service. No one suitably fits into that puzzle at the moment than Dr. Abubarkar Bukola Saraki, who undoubtedly possesses the aforementioned attributes”
He however urged party leaders across the country, especially the Northern caucuses of the PDP to give their recommendation a thought.
“Senator Saraki’s choice comes at a time the North Central deserves more than any Geo-political zone to produce a President.
This should be objectively considered and conceded to the zone to make the 2023 contest a smooth sail for our Party”.
Chairman PDP Ifelodun Local Govt, Mr. Wale Olawomo, in his words said, keeping silent at this delicate period will kill Nigerians more. He maintained that there is a need for Kwarans to prove to Nigerians that the State has a qualified leader who will lead the country forward
He reiterated that Dr. Bukola Saraki is the only trusted man who is more than capable to lead the country to a greater height
