2023: Group writes Gov Abdulrazaq, APC, demand zoning of Kwara Central Senate seat to Ilorin East/South

 

The Ilorin East and South Constituency Youth Stakeholders have appealed to Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq and the All Progressives Congress, APC in Kwara State to consider of one the Constituents for the Kwara Central Senatorial Seat ahead of the 2023 general elections.

In a letter made available to JUST EVENT ONLINE and dated 19 April 2022 to the Governor of Kwara State and signed by the coordinator, Salman Habeeb Olesin, and its secretary, Usman Muhammad Kawu Kano, explained that the Ilorin East and South Constituency Youth Stakeholders is a political group comprising different youth groups across the constituency, some of which are youth advocates, party executives, and community leaders among others.

It read in parts, “With utmost humility and maximum loyalty, the above named political group wishes to respectfully crave your indulgence and call your attention towards the established and perceived marginalization of Ilorin South and East federal Constituency for the position of Kwara Central senatorial district since 1979 till date.

“However, In line with the tenets of the All Progressives Congress which is premised on the basis of Equity, Fairness and Justice coupled with your charismatic and considerate style of leadership, we are appealing to you as the leader of Our party to intervene and mediate so as to ensure that the collective wishes and aspirations of the majority of our Party members in Kwara Central Senatorial District is accomplished and adequately upheld.

“Your Excellency, It is pertinent to reiterate this marginalized part also parade competent hands with the requisite wherewithal to represent the good people of the senatorial district at the National Assembly, but they are not always lucky, due to lack of proper political arrangement on the part of stakeholders. We hope this is
addressed this time around to avoid uprising and rancor within the Party.”
