2022 Unity Week: NANS Kwara holds peaceful rally on voters’ education, drug abuse

The National Association of Nigerian Students Kwara Axis Joint Campus Council under the chairmanship of Comrade Yusuf AbdulGafar on Monday held a peaceful rally in commemoration of the 2022 NANS Unity week

The rally, which kicks-off at the Emirs Palace, ended at Kwara State Government House, Ilorin

While peaking, Chairman of NANS Kwara, Comrade Yusuf AbdulGafar said the rally was to commemorate the 9th annual NANS Unity Week, to practically enlighten and educate the Nigerian Students on voting against the forthcoming 2023 General Election and to campaign against drug abuse, social vices and other deviances

He enjoined the students to always be peaceful in their dealings and continue to handle their cases diplomatically, he urged them to be ambassadors of their schools and not allow politicians to use them for election malpractice

Your primary assignment to school is to study don’t engage yourself in any act of immorality, he warned the students

Speaking earlier, Emir of Ilorin Dr Ibrahim Sulu Gambari CFR ably represented by Magaji Muse of Ilorin, Engr Olayinka Abdul commended the students for conducting themselves in a good manner and urged them to focus on their studies

Emir of Ilorin was once a student like you and he has never been found wanting, I want you all to emulate him so that you attain greater height in life, he said

The student also took their rally to police headquarters in Ilorin to appreciate the police for their protection. While responding, the commissioner of police, Paul Odama who was represented by PPRO, SP Ajayi Okasanmi urged them to continue to be peaceful.

On his part, Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Dr Afeez Abolore Alabi while addressing the students at Government House, commended their leadership for a peaceful rally and highlighted the achievements of the present administration in the education sector

Also, SA Student to Kwara Gov, Comr Mubarak Abdul hailed the student for conducting themselves in a very mature manner as he enjoined them to sustain the tempo.
