11 states and the Federal Capital Territory reported 209 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, according to figures released on Thursday by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.
The agency also reported one additional COVID-19 related death.
The NCDC disclosed this on its official website on Wednesday.
Gombe recorded the highest number of new infections with 109 cases followed by FCT – 21, Rivers – 21, Lagos – 13, Bauchi – 9, Ondo – 9, Plateau – 9, Enugu – 7, Benue – 5, Oyo – 4, Ekiti – 1 and Ogun – 1.
The health agency said the 209 new COVID-19 infections have brought the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country to 212,359.
However, 204,010 COVID-19 patients have recovered and have been discharged in the country, the agency said.
With one additional COVID-19 related death reported, the death toll from the virus rose to 2,900, NCDC said.
It added that a multi-sectoral National Emergency Operations Centre, activated at Level 2, had continued to coordinate the national response activities.
