Amolegbe village is part of Womi Ayaki ward in Moro LGA, Kwara North Senatorial District.
The villagers have been drinking Iyemaja erosion water with cows and other animals for a long time, a water source that is very dirty and unfit for drinking by a living soul.
As part of ENetSuD’s needs assessment of marginalized communities under our Citizens Enlightenment and Mobilization Program (CEMP), we identified potable water as the basic and top need of the community.
In press statement released by Abdulkareem Eyitayo Abubakar,
Director, Community Services, Elites Network for Sustainable Development (ENetSuD) and obtained by JUST EVENT ONLINE
We publicized the community’s problem on our social media platforms to attract a possible helper, in addition to bringing it to the attention of the government. However, we didn’t wait for the government’s option.
A philanthropist (who pleaded anonymity) felt inspired and contacted ENetSuD to signify interest to provide a borehole for the village as Sadaqqa in memory of her late mother.
Consequently, the philanthropist contracted the borehole to her trusted agent, and the borehole has been completed and now serving the community. We commissioned and handed it over to the community today for their immediate use.
ENetSuD is pleased to have identified the community’s problem and provided a solution to it. It is another (among many) impact of our CEMP program.
We thank the philanthropist for positively touching the lives of the villagers through us.
May Allah forgive the sins of her mother and count the Sadaqqah of the borehole as a reward for the deceased soul.
